We are pleased to announce the second Black Lion Records compilation CD, Afterlife In Darkness II, the name is taken from the Brazilian Death Metal group Depressed's debut album, Afterlife In Darkness and we’ve chosen this name due it special meaning for us, since Depressed was the first band we ever released on CD.
This compilation marks our 100th release to date.
Coming this summer, the compilation will present old, new, and un-released tracks from previous and upcoming releases. As we grow up in the physical world where magazines like Legacy, Decibel, Terroriser, Close up, Sweden Rock etc, used to hand out these kind of CDs and in many times it had a solid band, that we grew fond of.
The CD will be limited to 500 units and housed in a digipak with a cover artwork created by Simon Bossert

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

As I sat listening to this album for the first time, I cried. It triggered so many emotions I could barely handle it. This is exactly the kind of music which pulls at my heart strings. Incredibly beautiful and epic. Sooo windirish but yet so unique ! Jana

Another band from Sweden that adheres to the Swedish school of melodic black metal ? ok. Similar to Dissection and Naglfar but offering somewhat more technical and sophisticated melodies? ok. Very good reviews from other (trusted) BC users? check. Nice cover artwork and irresistible purchase price? I'm in!! sachavonkarl74

🇭🇲 From the darkness of the depths of Australia, an extreme metal force of nature emerges in an intense mix of old school and modern death metal, with a touch of darkness from Scandinavian black metal... Its crushing riffs, guttural vocals and abrupt tempo changes are like a sonic tsunami that sweeps away everything in its path...debut concept album exploring themes of struggle, transformation and apocalyptic destruction, creating an atmosphere of relentless sonic fury. Masterpiece! ⛧ Fallenin77
